is this meant to be installed from minimal install of Arch?

I'm literally over here drooling over these screenshots, like honestly, this is impressive stuff.

Was wondering if the install script works best from a minimal install of arch, I'm about to install it on my main work machine and was hoping not to get tripped up

I'm also wondering about that. In the past I manually installed arch with kda plasma and then installed hyprland on the side with hyprdot config but yesterday I've reinstalled using archinstall with hyprland option and followed up with this config and so far i have some issues that I'm too silly to figure out.

• like using appimages does not just work by double-clicking in dolphin
• some installs fail like yay vesktop (worked with the vesktop bin version) or yay zen-browser
• steam does not come with it and from what I've researched ill be having to do a lot of stuff to just get that work

I'm not sure if this is the issue with this config or the lack of base files from kda plasma that I've used to have but maybe that will help you somehow. I'll be looking for more solution and in the worst case ill reinstall with the kda plasma and install this config next.

Yeah same ran into some issues myself when trying to install on hyprdots, didn't attempt to fix it because that usually has the reverse effect haha

I'm going through the install right now using a virtual machine, I'll let you know how it goes!

So it seems to install just fine, just make sure you have the additional packages git, kitty and make sure you set yourself to sudo while in arch install screen..

Although I did run into a couple of issues:

• No default greeter, I installed regreet and was able to load in
• No fancy status bar on entering session big sad although I'm sure this is an easy fix, I probably have to trigger the AGS commands on start up or something

Going to tinker more with the install later today and see if I can make some progress

Steam, AppImages, Vesktop are not related to the dotfiles. Install them or refer to their manuals or something...
Steam is literally sudo pacman -S steam and I don't get what could go wrong other than picking the right driver for your gpu

git, kitty, greeter don't come installed by default because you use normal arch
if you mind installing them you could use endeavouros next time...
my dotfiles handle the user config part, not your system stuff

• You're expected to have a working Arch (-based) system and that's it
• Give the script a proper run, if there are errors try to work around with basic Arch knowledge or show logs when asking for help
• Then refer to troubleshooting wiki page if things aren't functioning properly

ah okay I get it, so it's strictly config files. Later tonight I'd like to work on a separate branch that assumes the user is running archinstall script and is hoping to get something that is shown in the screenshots after reboot, if that's something you'd be willing to merge
