Fine-grained rotation control in photo editor / straighten horizon #7281

This. I dream about Ente having Telegram's photo and video editors, which are not only feature-rich (including the fine-grained rotation) but also have a very mature and pleasant UX. Taking inspiration or even straight up code from there should be easy, since the Telegram code is open and foss licensed. |

Thanks for saying this! Cropping and fine rotation (straightening) are practically the only two image manipulations I care about. Surely I'm not the only one. Is it reasonable to prioritize deploying fine rotation? (i.e. rotation by 1-2 degrees etc, not just by 90 degrees). |

Hi there!
I'd love to see the photo editor get an upgrade for rotation functionality. Currently, we can only rotate photos in 45-degree increments, but I'm missing the ability to make small adjustments to straighten horizons or correct slight tilts in photos.
It would be great to have:
This is especially useful for landscape photos where the horizon isn't perfectly level, or any photo that just needs a small rotation adjustment. Most other photo editors have this kind of fine rotation control, and it's one of the features I find myself missing when editing in Ente.
