Came here with exactly the same query - wasn't sure if I was missing where to set the export location. Totally agree this is a huge security flaw, especially when you can export in plain text. Very odd it hasn't had a single response in the 3 weeks since you posted! |

I was exporting today for backup (Unencrypted) and noticed that it always saves to the Downloads folder. It's strange that there is no option to choose a different location. Out of curiosity, I tested Proton and it does allow selecting the download path. I still prefer Ente, so I'm sticking with it for now and hoping this feature gets added soon. |

Hello,
I thought I requested this earlier but cannot find the ticket (please mark as duplicate if you find it).
I think this is a critical feature. If you click on Data->Export from the menu and choose an option (Encrypted, Plain text, HTML etc), and the application directly saves the exported file to the "Downloads" folder - however, this to me a HUGE no, no. This is because - YOU CANNOT erase a file securely on most systems which use SSD. I ended up having to download a specialized software to delete the tokens. If you can allow for selecting a folder after clicking on the export option, I can save it to a drive of my choice (may be USB or maybe an encrypted drive).
