Add the "select whole day"-button to Shared Albums

When looking at photos in my own albums I can select all photos grouped by one day.
It seems to me that this function is missing in albums that were shared with me.
It seems that it does generally work in albums that are shared but only for the account that owns the album.

Ist there a specific reason for this or am I missing a setting?
I'm using the feature a lot and do miss it in shared albums.
