Autocomplete 2.0 with arrow drop down

I would like to use an autocomplete and a select in the same place, but they look a bit inconsistent when the autocomplete doesn't have a dropdown indicator.
The first field has many options, where the autocomplete functionality helps narrow down the list, while the second field has only a few options and works as a simple select.
In general, it seems useful to provide the same visual signal that a dropdown list of choices is available.

Describe the solution you'd like

A: Make an option to have the dropdown arrow in the autocomplete
B: Make an option in the select to type to reduce list option.

I’ve been reviewing this pattern, and I think adding a dropdown arrow in the autocomplete could create misleading interaction.

A select indicates that users can open and browse a predefined list of options. An autocomplete, however, invites users to type and then displays matching suggestions automatically.

Adding the same dropdown indicator to both components may suggest that they behave in exactly the same way. If the autocomplete does not support opening and browsing the full list by clicking the arrow, the indicator would set the wrong expectation.

I will discuss it again when the design lead is back from vacation, so we can confirm the approach and make a final decision.
