SignalR is not stable on iOS

Describe the bug
Sometimes we stop getting updates with signalR on iOS.

To Reproduce
It seems to happen mostly when we close and reopen the window.

It could be related to this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56216284/signalr-connection-fails-in-iphone-safari-browser-gets-minimized-how-to-make-it
but that is a very old post, and it is hard to debug locally to verify it.

Expected behavior
The connection should stay open whenever the tab is open.

There might be things you can do with the signalr connection eventhandlers in the frontend. I have experimented a bit, but it's really hard to recreate the ios conditions on a laptop.

I found it hard to recreate on an iPhone as well.
