Python 3.13 compatibility status

Hello segyio maintainers,

Thank you for maintaining segyio.

I would like to ask whether it would be possible to declare Python 3.13 support and provide conda-forge builds for it.
From downstream usage, segyio builds successfully via pip on Python 3.13 and works correctly for the functionality we rely on.

Having an official conda-forge build for Python 3.13 would be very helpful for downstream packages.

Hi! Great to hear that you like segyio. As you mention, Python 3.13 support itself is well-supported by segyio and so is Python 3.14. However, there are no builds on conda-forge for Python 3.13 or newer.

The conda builds are not officially endorsed by us, but I see that there is a feedstock https://github.com/conda-forge/segyio-feedstock/ that is (was?) maintained by segyio maintainers. I will reach out to the maintainers of the feedstock to figure out if we can add releases/builds for Python 3.13 support, but I cannot promise you anything at the moment.
