I don't have a specific use case other than the library's inherent utility.

I have a background in petroleum engineering and the project seemed interesting to me. I'd also like to improve my skills and experience contributing to open-source projects.

Are there any good first issues you'd recommend I start with?

I'd recommend copying an existing Storybook story showing a subsurface-viewer component, creating a new story that demonstrates the desired behaviour.
