Problems with calving coupling in AWI-CM-3.3

After upgrading esm_tools to the latest version and installing awicm-3.3 I got the problems with coupling. The model crashes with an error:
"(oasis_coupler_setup) ERROR: namcouple variable not used: R_Calving_oce".
Does someone know a solution?

Hi @a270067, thanks for reporting. Can you provide the path to:

1. Your esm_tools
2. The runscript yaml
3. The model_codes

With that I can start working on exploring what the problem might be.

You also mentioned that the namcouple is not updating correctly with your changes, right? What is the part of the namcouple that should be updated and how is it different from what ESM-Tools is generating?

I can reproduce your problem, now that I have all the paths. It seems to be a bug, but I need to explore it a bit more.

You can circumvent this problem by adding an add_ prefix to coupling_target_fields (add_coupling_target_fields).

Are you sure? That's what I suggested first. I seem to recall that did not work.

I'm pretty sure. i see in the provenance that is working, while without the add I get the one from awicm3.yaml

I've tried it just now with and without the add_ and I see differences in the namcouples:
