Click/thump now present on V3 receiver with version 2.28 firmware and above?

Hello,

I have a version V3 receiver and I noticed that when upgrading from version 2.27 firmware to 2.28 or above there is a noticeable thump/click when changing bands or when cycling through memories in the memory bank. Neither of these were present on version 2.27.

I see that in the changelog for 2.28 this is shown:

"Fix loud clicks when changing bands/modes on the PCB version without the mute circuit. #103"

Could this have perhaps caused an issue with V3 receivers?

An example audio record that demonstrates the thump/click would be nice.

I do not have a V3 receiver, so here is a test build for you to try (it doesn't mute the audio when changing bands)

I just flashed my V3S with this test version and the thump is gone. The volumes now dip between bands instead of the thump.

Update. There is a thump when I select Scan and the sound is muted, then a thump when the audio returns.
When I look at the code for muting, there is a call to disable the amplifier (digitalWrite(PIN_AMP_EN, LOW);), then a call to set volume to 0.
Could this be the cause for the thump? Setting volume to 0 should be enough.

Setting just the volume to 0 doesn't mute the loud click on other hardware variant.

There are no simple ways to fix the click on both hardware variants

If you are willing to experiment, try changing the order of muting/unmuting statements (the three lines you posted above)

I can try that.
When I run the make ( on Linux) I get a ton of warnings during compile. Is that OK?
