I installed this firmware on my S3 Box and it works. However, there is a strange issue when announcing: the screen flashes the previous response but afterwards it goes black for the duration of the announcement. There are no entries in the log that point to this behaviour. |
Thanks for raising this issue! I think I fixed it with the latest commit. Would you mind trying again? |

I tried again but I am not sure whether the new configuration is being used. How can I force esphome to download the latest file iteration? |

Never mind, I used the commit a84bb02 reference to specify the latest changes. This works now! |

Updates the firmware to use the new media player in ESPHome 2025.2. Closes #56, as this builds directly off of it.
Since we still do not have I2S audio duplex support, I have set the media player to only use the announcement pipeline. Users can still play media and make announcements, but they won't be able to mix two audio streams together. Since users can't activate the voice assistant while media is playing, there are few opportunities to actually mix the audio.
I haven't tested this due to not having an original S3 Box. Please test it out and let me know of any issues!
