ESP Registry has ESP-Brookesia v0.5.0 but GitHub only has 0.4.2. I'd like to contribute to the GUITION JC4880P433C_I_W using IDF5.5.1 and LVGL 9 with a BSP for their hardware, can someone please release ESP-Brookesia v0.5.0 to Github please?

Hi @csvke,

Thank you very much for your contribution! However, ESP-Brookesia has two significantly different versions on the ESP Registry and the GitHub master branch, with the latter being in the Preview state. We are developing a board management mechanism to enable the selection of different development boards within the same project. So, we cannot accept contributions for adding new development boards right now. We expect to release a new version by the end of this month. Thank you again for your kindness!

Perfect. It's such a great code base to use to develop multi app end-product based on a number of esp32p4 dev boards with touch panels. Will wait for your lead of the new version and contribute by then. I still need to piece together GUITION's JC4880P433C's provided examples and get a code based up and running in an upstream orderly fashion, so others can work with a range of dev boards straight out-of-the-box.

On a side note, does any one in espressif know anyone from GUITION that I can be in touch to work with them? Great hardware but docs and software can be better...

When are we expecting the new version to be released? And why would be included? Would love to see the App Store comes to live. Or at least docs and examples of how to build and distribute an app to run off an SD card. A BSP style board management is great too, as I can see some of the other manufacturers are already doing that. I am building a BSP for the GUITION board too but a standardise way led by Espressif would be ideal.

Thank you very much for your attention. We expect to complete it by early November at the latest.

In this update, structurally, the main change is splitting each functional module of the warehouse into independent components. Functionally, it will support multiple development boards, optimize AI expressions, add a service module with a universal interface, and so on. Yes, we are also making every effort to implement this function. However, due to the limitations of the current software framework, we have to carry out a relatively major update to it.

Hi @sohil4932, The OpenAI firmware is modified based on the Speaker project. However, we are reconstructing the entire Brookesia framework to achieve a more flexible Agent switching mechanism. Therefore, it is not recommended for you to develop based on it at present. Due to the fact that the workload of reconstruction has exceeded expectations, we expect to complete it by the end of this month.

@Lzw655 Thanks so much for the update. The current Brookesia Speaker project doesn’t support OpenAI agents yet, so we’ll wait for the upcoming release.
