NAMA Protocol — Roadmap

This roadmap outlines the phased rollout of the NAMA ecosystem, progressing from a functional prototype to a fully decentralized, enterprise-grade global solution on VeChainThor.

Phase 1 — Proof of Concept (PoC) & Demo Architecture

Timeline: Months 1–3

Focus

Visualize the core value proposition and establish the underlying blockchain infrastructure on VeChainThor Testnet.

Objectives

  • Interactive UI/UX Prototype — Develop high-fidelity interfaces for the B2B Smart Procurement Marketplace and the Sustainability Intelligence Dashboard.
  • Digital Product Passport (DPP) Beta — Deploy initial smart contracts to mint the first simulated DPPs, capturing mock data for origin, transit conditions, and environmental readings.
  • IoT Simulation Environment — Create a functional demo showcasing how IoT sensors (temperature, humidity, location) automatically update the blockchain ledger in real-time.
  • Stakeholder Onboarding — Secure letters of intent (LOIs) from initial pilot partners including producers, logistics operators, and institutional buyers.

  • DPP.sol smart contract deployed to VeChainThor Testnet
  • Marketplace.sol smart contract (listing, offer, settlement)
  • Interactive marketplace demo (React + Vite)

Phase 2 — Minimum Viable Product (MVP) & Closed Pilot

Timeline: Months 4–6

Focus

Test the platform in a controlled, real-world environment to validate operational efficiency and data integrity with selected pilot partners.

Objectives

  • MVP Enterprise dApp Launch — Release the functional decentralized application to selected pilot partners.
  • B2B Smart Procurement Execution — Facilitate the first end-to-end transparent wholesale transactions, bypassing traditional intermediaries.
  • Circular Economy Activation — Implement initial waste-routing protocols, logging non-consumable goods on-chain and matching them with verified secondary buyers.
  • Security Audit — Conduct comprehensive third-party audits of all smart contracts to ensure enterprise-grade security prior to wider deployment.

Phase 3 — Analytics Integration & Ecosystem Expansion

Timeline: Months 7–9

Focus

Introduce advanced AI capabilities, enterprise integrations, and scale the B2B network.

Objectives

  • AI Sustainability Dashboard — Launch AI-powered intelligence tools providing automated waste analysis, carbon footprint tracking, and ESG compliance reporting.
  • ERP Integration — Deploy API gateways enabling enterprise clients to seamlessly integrate NAMA data with existing legacy supply chain, ERP, and accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • SME Inclusion Module — Launch streamlined onboarding tools enabling smallholder farmers and local producers to create verified digital credentials for global supply chain participation.

Phase 4 — Commercial Mainnet Launch & Global Scaling

Timeline: Months 10–12+

Focus

Achieve full decentralization, cross-border interoperability, and aggressive market adoption on VeChainThor Mainnet.

Objectives

  • VeChainThor Mainnet Deployment — Transition all operations from Testnet to the live Mainnet environment, ensuring absolute immutability of global trade data.
  • Global Trade & Customs Interoperability — Standardize DPP data formats for compliance with international cross-border trade regulations and customs authorities.
  • Full Circular Economy Engine — Expand secondary market network globally to include diverse waste-to-wealth industries including bioenergy, industrial reuse, and composting.
  • Dynamic Predictive Modeling — Activate predictive AI to forecast food security risks, supply chain disruptions, and market demand fluctuations.

  • All contracts deployed and verified on VeChainThor Mainnet
  • Cross-border DPP data format standardization
  • Global secondary market directory (on-chain registry)

Phase 5 — Global Trade & Customs Interoperability (Future Vision)

Timeline: Beyond Month 12 — Aspirational Strategic Phase

⚠️ This phase represents a future strategic vision. None of the capabilities described below are currently implemented. No new smart contracts, deployments, or integrations are included in the current codebase. All items below are roadmap-oriented and subject to revision.

Focus

Extend the NAMA trust infrastructure beyond domestic procurement to support cross-border food trade — reducing dependence on opaque logistics intermediaries, enabling blockchain-verified customs readiness, and supporting international sustainability-linked trade validation.

Objectives

  • FTZ Green Lane — Develop a blockchain-verified customs readiness pathway enabling NAMA-certified shipments to qualify for expedited processing in Free Trade Zone corridors. DPP provenance data and verified IoT telemetry would serve as the basis for automated customs pre-clearance signals.
  • Decentralized Freight Marketplace — Design an open freight bidding layer that broadens participation beyond dominant logistics operators, enabling independent carriers to compete transparently for shipments on the basis of verified qualification records rather than incumbent relationships.
  • Cross-Border Trade Layer — Build interoperability standards enabling NAMA DPPs to satisfy cross-jurisdictional compliance requirements, allowing shipment provenance records and sustainability certifications to be recognised across multiple trade regions.
  • Sustainability-Linked Trade Validation — Establish a mechanism by which verified ESG telemetry and circular economy records materially influence trade terms — connecting on-chain sustainability performance to preferential trade treatment.
