Something Wrong With HTMLProofer, gets stuck in a loop

What happened?

HTMLProofer runs for a very long time and seems to get stuck in a loop repeating this warning, over and over and over again. This warning was output over 1000 times:

    Liquid Warning: Liquid syntax error (line 22): Expected end_of_string but found comparison in "{{page.status == "Draft" or page.status == "Stagnant" or page.status == "Withdrawn" or page.status == "Review" or page.status == "Last Call" }}" in /_layouts/eip.html
