What type of wallet?

EOA with Smart Features (EIP-7702)

Wallet description

Cloaked is a self-custodial Ethereum wallet with built-in privacy features. It uses stealth addresses, ENS-based receive names, EIP-7702 account upgrades, and privacy pools so users can send, receive, swap, bridge, and cash out without reusing a single public address for all activity.

When did the wallet go live to users?

Production web app release: March, 2026.

The project is built by a team with prior wallet/blockchain experience at Optimism, ConsenSys, Gemini, and Bastion, as noted on the Cloaked website.

What are the fees users may be paying for using your wallet product?

  • Sends: users pay network/gas fees. No separate Cloaked service fee is charged on sends, though network fee estimates include an operational buffer and all fees are disclosed before execution.
  • Swaps and bridges: network fees plus a Cloaked service fee currently documented as 0.85% of the input amount.
  • Privacy pool deposits/withdrawals: network fees and applicable pool/protocol/Cloaked fees are disclosed before execution.
  • Off-ramp: network fees, route costs, third-party fees, and Cloaked service fees may apply and are disclosed before execution.

Docs:

Does the wallet have an active development team?

Yes. Cloaked is actively developed by Cloaked Technologies, Inc. Public source-available components include:

Is the wallet globally accessible?

The wallet is available as a web app. Cloaked does not require wallet-account KYC for ordinary wallet use. Users must comply with the Terms of Service, including sanctions restrictions. Off-ramp availability depends on third-party providers, payment methods, liquidity, buyer activity, supported jurisdictions, and applicable laws.

Docs:

Is the wallet available in multiple languages?

English. (more coming soon)

What social links are there for the project?

Device

Does the wallet have a mobile app? If yes, which operating systems are supported (iOS, Android)?

Cloaked is publicly available as a web app and as a Farcaster mini app. A native mobile app is being worked on.

Does the wallet have a desktop app? If yes, which operating systems are supported (Windows, Mac, Linux)?

No native desktop app. The wallet is available through the browser at https://app.clkd.xyz.

Does the wallet have a browser extension? If yes, which browsers are supported (Chromium, Firefox, Safari)?

Browser extension coming soon.

Is it a hardware wallet?

No. Cloaked is not a hardware wallet. Users can register/sign with an external wallet, including hardware-backed wallet providers where supported by that wallet, but Cloaked itself is software.

Security

What is the availability of your source code?

Source available.

Core recovery and cryptographic SDK components are public under the Cloaked GitHub organization. The full hosted app/server codebase is not fully open source at this time.

Public components:

What license is the wallet software released under?

Public SDK/recovery components are MIT licensed. Proprietary hosted application/server components are not fully open source.

Who holds the private keys?

Users hold the spending capability. Cloaked is self-custodial and does not custody funds or private keys. The spending capability remains client-side and is required to authorize transactions. Cloaked coordinates address derivation, balance tracking, transaction construction, and relay submission, but cannot move funds independently.

Docs:

Please describe the measures taken to ensure the wallet's security and provide documentation wherever possible

  • Self-custodial key model: the spending capability never leaves the user's device.
  • Separate viewing and spending capabilities: Cloaked receives scoped viewing material for address detection and balance tracking, while spending authority remains client-side.
  • Passkey/WebAuthn PRF support for phishing-resistant authentication where supported by the device/browser.
  • Wallet + PIN mode requires a user-entered PIN combined with wallet signatures, adding friction against blind-signing flows.
  • Encrypted backup/recovery flow: passkey users can export a password-encrypted backup file, and recovery runs through the public recovery app.
  • EIP-7702 / Porto-based execution requires explicit user authorization for account upgrades and payments.
  • Transaction quotes disclose expected fees before confirmation.

Docs:

Has the wallet's smart contract code or security modules been audited?

Cloaked uses Paradigm's EIP-7702 smart account infrastructure through Porto. Paradigm's 7702 smart accounts were audited by Riley H, Kaden, and Milotruck, and Paradigm maintains a live bug bounty: https://porto.sh/contracts/security-and-bug-bounty

Does the wallet have an internal security team?

Yes, security is handled by the active Cloaked development team. Public docs describe the self-custodial model, passkey safety, recovery, privacy pool trust model, and non-custodial transaction relay model.

Any other security testing that should be noted?

The project has automated tests across SDK, server, app, chain indexing, and shared UI packages. Public source-available packages expose the cryptographic/recovery logic for review. Security-sensitive public documentation is available at:

Scam protection?

Cloaked uses explicit passkey or wallet-signature authorization for sensitive actions, shows quotes/fees before confirmation, and wallet+PIN mode adds an intentional confirmation step to reduce accidental or blind signing. Cloaked does not currently advertise a general malicious-token or malicious-contract detection engine.

Features

Does the wallet support connecting to Ethereum applications?

Partially. Cloaked is primarily a wallet web app today. A Chromium browser extension for EIP-6963 dapp provider injection is in development, but there is no public extension store link yet.

Does the wallet support connecting to a hardware wallet?

Yes, indirectly. Users can authenticate with external wallet providers, including hardware-backed wallets where supported by that provider. Cloaked does not provide a native USB/Bluetooth hardware-wallet integration.

Docs: https://clkd.xyz/docs/developers

Does the wallet support importing Ethereum RPC endpoints?

No public custom-RPC import feature is documented today. Cloaked currently supports the networks configured by the service.

Does the wallet support viewing and interacting with NFTs?
