Environment dropdown doesn't work as expected and is inconsistent

In environment dropdown, it we move to Sepolia - Testnet from Remix VM (cancun), it shows Sepolia Testnet - Metamask as selection

Further when I select L2 Arbitrum Metamask from arbitrun, it shows Injected Provider - Metamask as selection and shows Arbitrum chain id. This selection is kind of against the expected behaviour of a dropdown.

Moreover, I again select Sepolia - Testnet, it shows Injected Provider - Metamask as selection and shows Sepolia chain id

This is inconsistent comparing to first step.
