Description
Hi! I’d like to propose a set of tiers for our OpenCollective page, so that people donating through OpenCollective also get some benefits (for example, being shown in the README or on our website). What I’m proposing—similar to what most projects already do—is the following:
- Backers (minimum OpenCollective amount – $100): shown only in the Express README (or, if we want, also in the rest of the repositories), without a link to their website, with an avatar size of 25×25, We would only show the image displayed at the end of the issue.
- Bronze Sponsors ($100–$250): same as Backers, but also shown on the website with a link, with a logo size of 35×35 both on the website and in the README.
- Silver Sponsors ($250–$500): same as Bronze, but with a logo size of 40×40.
- Gold Sponsors ($500–$1,000): same as Silver, but with a logo size of 50×50.
- Platinum Sponsors ($1,000 and up): same as the previous tiers, but with a logo size of 90×90.
I know we don’t yet have a complete plan for how the money will be distributed, but I’d like to tackle that in a separate issue (which I hope to create soon with some proposals). Still, I think this would be ideal to set up while we’re working on the website redesign.
To generate the image for the README, I propose using the following tool.
It would generate both the SVG and a JSON file, which we could then use on the website to filter and display sponsors according to the tiers proposed earlier.
Currently, the README would show an image like this:
