Statistics are being used nowhere except the info api. I see info api being used in readiness and liveness probe.
@chmouel Would you know why we have this API?

I can't rem what exactly hardy was saying, but i think it was just for info

This is one of many unknowns. Anyway, this doesn't seem so important. I will downgrade this.
