The Oric Atmos, at least in its 48k variant, seems to be a good target for GeckOS.

The interesting thing is that LOCI, which is an "I/O Expander on Steroids" for the Oric (thanks to its use of the RP2040), allows for some degree of "RAM switching", which might allow an Oric to have more resources available to be exploited by GeckOS.

And, also, dflat - which is an alternative ROM for the Oric, replacing its BASIC with the dflat language, recently got LOCI support too - and this may also have some application for the GeckOS-on-Oric effort:

Funny to be tagged here. We contacted earlier @fachat on GeckOS C128 80 column support, but yes, I am an Oric Atmos user and fan as well….

maybe also interesting ti know that there is also a networking device in the works for the Oric, which might also be relevant for the networking part of GeckOS.
