perhaps a slight modification of the chunkerfunc interface:
chunkerfunc(fcurve,cparams,pref,ts)
where ts is a nch+1 array specifying the end points of the desired chunks in the array. If ts is provided, then no adaptivity is done. this would also be useful for RCIP
