Problem
Hermes One plays a short notification chime whenever an assistant response finishes.
There is currently no visible setting to disable this sound. This becomes distracting when Hermes One remains open throughout the workday or when multiple conversations and background sessions are active.
Current behavior
A completion chime is played whenever a chat changes from generating to finished.
The sound is not controlled by a user preference.
Requested behavior
Add a notification sound setting, preferably under a new Notifications section:
Play a sound when a response finishes
- enabled by default to preserve the current behavior;
- persist the preference between application restarts;
- when disabled, suppress the sound for both active and background conversations;
- keep visual unread indicators and other non-audio notifications working normally.
An optional future refinement could provide separate settings for:
- active conversation responses;
- background conversation responses;
- errors or actions requiring attention.
The main request is simply a reliable master switch for the existing completion sound.
Expected result
Users who prefer a silent desktop client can disable the response-completion chime without disabling visual notifications.
Environment
- Hermes One: latest version
- Operating system: Windows 11
- Connection mode: remote Hermes server
