Find existing extensions that do similar things to what we have planned. If any are open source, can we modify or clone their code? Are there libraries that simplify parts of the process?

XPather is a very nice Xpath plugin for Chrome, and it includes a lot of functionality that we want: https://github.com/Simek/XPather.

Note that it has both top and side bars, as well as being able to play with xpaths and generate a unique xpath for any element in a document.

We will probably want to pull in most of this code.

This is a nice simple Chrome extension template that includes bootstrap.

We should use this as a starting point.
