Alias sortable column name in URL

If I want to avoid exposing my DB column name to the user in the URL when they sort the column, the best workaround I came up with is to create an "alias" attribute on my Eloquent model:

public function getNiceNameAttribute(): string
{
    return $this->longUglyName;
}

Then manually specify an Eloquent query to sort the column:

use Filament\Tables\Columns\TextColumn;
use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Builder;

TextColumn::make('niceName')
    ->label('Nice Name')
    ->sortable(query: function (Builder $query, string $direction): Builder {
        return $query->orderBy('longUglyName', $direction);
    })

It would be more convenient if there were an alias function like so:

TextColumn::make('longUglyName')->sortAlias('niceName');

What's the situation that you need to hide the column name? (just curious, I think this is a good idea)

Non-public information including trade secrets, internal application structure, insight into security systems in some cases. In general, I don't think it's good practice to reveal column names to the user by default. At a minimum, aliasing the column names (often long and ugly) makes URLs cleaner and the app less janky-feeling.
