This feature request is for extension: fs-export-bigquery (storage-resize-images, firestore-send-email, etc)

What feature would you like to see?

The cloud functions that export from Firestore to BQ are running on nodejs 18. Node18 goes end-of-life at the end of April 2025. Per our compliance requirements and contractual agreement with our customers, we are not allowed to run EOL software.

How would you use it?

Firebase -> BigQuery extension produces business-critical data for product analytics and metrics.

This is not a feature request but rather necessary for certain GCP customers in order to not run into compliance issues due to running deprecated (EOL) runtimes.

Thanks for your reply. Can you advise on the next steps or where to receive updates re. the plan is for the extension? Google itself will deprecate Node18 on 04/30. https://cloud.google.com/functions/docs/runtime-support and remove it on 10/30.

Hi @christina-abridge - I'm in the same boat as you. I'm a customer that uses this extension. I also would like to know when Google might be able to provide these extensions with node20 as the runtime. For us, staying on node18 will be a compliance issue.
