improve data matrix code

What feature would you like to see?

Data Matrix code should be recognised similar to QR Code and not only recognised while centering the barcode.

I'm using com.google.firebase:firebase-ml-vision:24.0.1 with com.google.firebase:firebase-ml-vision-barcode-model:16.0.2 (needed since 24) and it can scan the code wherever it is (no need to center it).

But we have another problem (and this issue title matches as well 😉):

We need a better recognition of those codes.

I can scan a "perfect" code generated on the computer just fine but a printed one on a circuit board does not work.

It seems to work with xzing. This app seems to use zxing and it can scan both images: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teacapps.barcodescanner

I'm using CameraX and tried different values for setTargetResolution() but had no luck. Other barcodes or qr-codes are working (and I'm accepting all codes for visionBarcodeDetector).

We can provide more images of codes on circuit boards to train the ml-model if needed.

@hardysim Will check internally why this is. When I do a negative of your image detection does seem to work with your image. I think the difference with a "regular" barcode is that the printed parts are typical dark compared to the background.
