script searching in firebug.next doesn't support the enter key

In firebug, I can enter a string to search for and hit enter and it will take me to the first occurrence. Hitting enter again will take me to the next occurrence. This lets me quickly loop through the various occurrences.

In firebug.next, hitting enter doesn't seem to do anything.

Ah, yes... The DevTools feature is more advanced but may be more confusing.
I personally would like to keep the Firebug option as default and also provide the ability to go back to the DevTools way to search.

Maybe I shouldn't talk at the place of the requester, but maybe rather the ! prefix (which is similar but for multiple files).

Also if I am not wrong, there isn't support of regular expression in the DevTools. Maybe fill a request to the DevTools for that.

No, the issue is that the "enter" key doesn't take me to the next instance of what I'm searching for.

In firebug:

1 - Go to the script panel
2 - Type in some text you want to search for
3 - Hit enter
4 - The first instance of that text will be highlighted and shown in its context
5 - Hit enter again
6 - The second instance will be highlighted and shown (this could be in a completely different file than the previous instance)
7 - Repeat steps 5-6

In firebug.next

1 - Go to the script panel
2 - Type in some text you want to search for
3 - Hit enter
4 - Nothing

Yes. The search field of the Debugger panel is special. You have to
prefix with either "#" (search in the current file) or with "!" (search
in all files) to find a match.

1. Open Firebug on this page
2. Go to the debugger panel
3. Select the "api.js" file
4. In the search field, type "#window"
   => The first occurrence is highlighted
5. Press enter
   => Another occurrence is highlighted

Enter doesn't work with !window. It shows me a list of lines and files but I can't enter between them. I can use up and down arrow keys but not enter. And the list of lines and files doesn't return immediately so I have to wait before I use the up and down arrow keys which is a little frustrating.
