Ah, we've seen this before. It's a MacOS bug. For some combination of MacOS and command line tools versions, /usr/bin/m4 is a broken link that constantly demands that command line tools be reinstalled. I worked around this at the time by making a symlink to the right m4 from /usr/local/bin (which is checked before /usr/bin): sudo ln -s /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/gm4 /usr/local/bin/m4 |
