spelling and thesaurus values don't fill in correctly

Running latest stable version from flathub on Ubuntu 24.04
TeXstudio 4.8.9 (git 4.8.9)
Using Qt Version 6.9.2, compiled with Qt 6.9.2 R

Initial values after installation in "Options/Configure Texstudio/Language Checking" reference an invalid directory under /app/... When I assign a value manually to the installation directory (var/lib/flatpak/app/org.texstudio.TeXstudio/x86_64/stable/../texstudio) it instead reassigns itself value to non-stable folder under /run/user/

I can get around this by creating my own directory and and putting that value into the config

What exactly are you trying to do?

/app/share/texstudio is a relative path inside the Flatpak, this is working as intended (not from TeXstudio's side, but you should not mess around in this directory). To install additional dictionaries, use the "Import Dictionary" button.

If you want to do this manually, dictionaries go in ~/.var/app/org.texstudio.TeXstudio/config/texstudio/dictionaries. Add this to the libraries path in TeXstudio settings like this: /app/share/texstudio;[txs-settings-dir]/dictionaries.
