[Question] Chat tutorial join_click() behavior

Hi! I am doing the chat tutorial and there are these lines at the end of the “User name dialog” section:

user_name = ft.TextField(label="Enter your name")

def join_click(e):
    if not user_name.value:
        user_name.error_text = "Name cannot be blank!"
    else:
        ...

But at the beginning of that section, join_click() has these lines:

def join_click(e):
    if not user_name.value:
        user_name.error_text = "Name cannot be blank!"
        user_name.update()
    else:
        ...

So I have 2 questions:

1. What is the expected behavior for TextField.error_text? The user doesn't see the error text and this attribute is not documented for TextField.
2. Is TextField.update() necessary or why doesn't it appear in the final join_click() block?

Hi. The tutorial is outdated at that section and will be updated. error_text has been replaced by error.
As from 0.80.0, calling update() can be ommited when in an event callback function, as it is now done automatically at the end of it.
