This will make it easier for future development as we can plug in new components for exec. Ideally, I would like to be able to have an "exec interface" where we can choose to plug simulations of other components or just a simple "performance" simulator into. This will be necessary if we want to do any sort of performance modeling with the emulator outside of apriori runtime. The default will stay as apriori though.
