Esc menu makes plane go dark

Describe the bug

After leaving the esc menu the plane goes dark

Expected behavior

State of the plane is the same as before entering the esc menu.

Steps to reproduce

1. Turn batteries on
2. Turn ground power on
3. Open esc menu
4. Return to sim

Additional info (optional)

According to the user this happens as well with an empty community folder, all peripherals except for mouse and keyboard removed. Also there's no double binding for esc according to the user.
