How to properly use DC BIOS in standalone Flycast?

Hi @flyinghead ,

I have not needed to use a BIOS before for Flycast, but I would like to give it a go. Once I have the file, where do I place it (I have an existing data/ folder) and is there any specific option I need to check/uncheck etc?

The Dreamcast BIOS file, if present, should be named "dc_boot.bin" and located inside a folder named "data" inside Flycast's folder.

Depends, It's a bit more hardware reliant but if you don't have shit specs it's better to have it on then not. If you experience more lag with HLE BIOS on then off; keep it off.

Also forgot to add this part but; HLE emulates* the functionality of a dreamcast and converting code somewhere around the API level (if Flycast has any since I'm not gonna dig through the code). It's mostly graphics based :P

@An-Untitled-Developer Turning it on with the dc_boot.bin in the data/ folder removes the Dreamcast BIOS bootscreen. I think the HLE option overrides the BIOS.

@kathyrollo I haven't experienced the bootscreen being removed when turning on HLE.
