Platform / OS / Hardware: Linux Mint 22.1 (based on Ubuntu 24.04)
Flycast version: RetroArch core (AppImage), version 5866e97
Hardware: AMD Ryzen 5700U, using its Radeon Vega 8 integrated GPU
Description of the Issue
If Vulkan is selected as the video driver inside RetroArch, then Flycast tends to crash when opening the frontend menu and navigating through settings (like shaders or core options). Issue also happens when fast-forwarding. It does not happen with OpenGL video driver.
Debugging Steps Tested
- Load game using Flycast's RetroArch Core
- Open RetroArch's menu (F1 key)
- Navigate through and inside some menus, like shaders or core options
- Flycast crashes
- It's more frequent when booting a game and during its first moments after boot
- It's more stable after a few minutes, but still happens
- Opening and closing the menu a few times may be needed for the crash to occur
