Unable to authorize an org

1. This is step 1. Click on Command Pallette
2. This is step 2. All steps should start with '1.' Then click on authorize an org or any sfdx commands. No action is done after I click those commands.

Expected result

_It should authorize an org when we click Authorize an org option.

Actual result

Nothing is happening. It stays in No Default org.
