Deploy wiki to new gh-pages branch

We are considering using the wiki instead of developing the documentation on the master branch. However, we still want to have a nice website. Therefore the idea is to create a website using the wiki content.

The wiki content should be automatically deployed on each commit in the wiki using Sphinx, e.g. how it is done in the PSLab documentation repository using the master branch. Basically we need the same deployment but using the wiki instead of the master branch.

There is a similar idea mentioned in in this post. There are also pointers how to export a wiki as a git repo on another post.

Please propose and implement a process. Showcase it on a repository on your account first.

I can implement this using Jekyll. I have started working on it, will update you soon!

I have created a prototype using sphinx here. It can be synchronized using only one command: rake sync.
Basically all it needs now is a webhook that runs the sync command whenever there is a change in the wiki submodule, though I have no idea how I can implement that yet, so I might need some assistance there. How should I proceed further?
