When assigning conversations, it automatically adds the user as a follower. Can that be a setting that you can turn on or off. Adding a follower should be a manual task unless business rules mandate it.
My experience is if you add a note to a conversation and do not assign it to yourself, the system automatically makes you a follower. As I triage conversations I have to go back into each conversation and remove myself as a follower. This is unproductive and creates extra steps for anyone triaging a mailbox.
