pin2dmd (stm32f407g-disco) - Missing frames on some serum colorized rom #546

Hi,

I just received a pin2dmd "device" with an stm32f407g-disco board and a "pin2dmd for dummies v1.1" PCB.

On some serum colorized roms i do have some missing frames / black screen / flickering on specific parts of the "game". I think this is when there is some sort of fast gradient coloring going on. I guess this could be a problem with the board (stm32f407) which is somehow not fully supported anymore and use a slow protocol (USB HID). I'd just like to have a confirmation this is the problem as i have done a lot of testing without success.

This is working fine in virtual dmd. Note that lowering delay from 25ms to 2ms in dmddevice.ini does improve the situation, but there is still some heavy "flickering".

Here is my setup:

  • dedicated 5v (at ~4.2v) arcade power supply
  • pin2dmd v4.52 firmware
  • dmdext 2.3.1
  • pin2dmd enabled in dmddevice.ini (pin2dmd1/2/3 doesn't seems to work)
  • visual pinball x 10.8.0
  • Attack From Mars and AC/DC serum colorized roms are causing problems, mainly on the title/author frames.

Thanks in advance for any information !
Cpasjuste.

Edit: from lucky response in a GitHub issue i submitted on his repo it seems this is not a problem on the pin2dmd side (hardware/firmware side).
