1.10.0 importer scan fails while 1.9.2 succeeds

The importer scan fails in 1.10.0 while 1.9.2 succeeds on Mac Intel and Mac M3. I updated Wireshark and reinstalled the ChmodBPF on both Macs, but that did not solve the issue.

I have a similar issue. I'm using a Mac M2. I tried to scan equipment information using the client downloaded from the App Store, but I couldn't get any data. I also ran the /Applications/FribbelsE7Optimizer.app/Contents/data/py/scanner.py program locally, but there was no data returned in the terminal. I tried to understand the process of capturing data packets. The scanner.py file is quite simple. I also used Wireshark to capture packets with the filter "tcp and (port 5222 or port 3333)," but there was no packet data returned. It might be a network issue. I'm very puzzled about how to capture packets using a proxy and how to accurately capture data packets under various environments.

This works in my case:
MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1 (25A362)
i replaces in the code in scanner.py
line
sniff(iface=get_working_ifaces(), prn=lambda x: check_packet(x), filter="tcp and ( port 5222 or port 3333 )", session=TCPSession)
to
sniff(iface="en0", prn=lambda x: check_packet(x), filter="tcp and ( port 5222 or port 3333 )", session=TCPSession)

And after this i rebuilt the app.
It works for me because on 1.10.0 version get_working_ifaces() call always returns virtual interface with unsupported bpf mode on my mac

Alternatively on the installed app:
/Applications/FribbelsE7Optimizer.app/Contents/data/py/scanner.py
find line
sniff(iface=get_working_ifaces(), prn=lambda x: check_packet(x), filter="tcp and ( port 5222 or port 3333 )", session=TCPSession)
replaceiface value to "en0"
the result line in my case is:
`sniff(iface="en0", prn=lambda x: check_packet(x), filter="tcp and ( port 5222 or port 3333 )", session=TCPSession)
But this may not work.

i can confirm the same problem on macbook pro m4 pro, macos 15.6.1 (24G90). Optimizer 1.9.2 works as expected

DartAndrik's workaround is successful for me. I did have to be careful which iface value to use on each Mac. For my M3 laptop, where I directly run Epic Seven downloaded from the Mac App Store, I use "en0" as the iface value. On my Intel iMac desktop, where I connect to Epic Seven running on my iPhone using WiFi sharing, I use "ap1" as the iface value. If anyone else has trouble finding the correct value, you can open WireShark to see the list of interfaces available to you that have traffic.
