Save/Don't Save/Cancel Dialog on Quitting Not Clickable

Current Behaviour

The user cannot click to select one of the options presented in the Save/Don't Save/Cancel dialog box that is presented when attempting to quit with unsaved changes. The only option is to press RETURN, which saves the file whether this is the desired outcome or not.

macOS Tahoe 26.3

Steps to reproduce:

• Simply drag any part into the breadboard pane and attempt to quit without saving the change.

Expected Behaviour

The user should be able to click on one of the options to select that option and quit. There is currently no way to quit without saving an unwanted change short of Force Quitting the application.

Tested on macOS Sequoia, works fine. This issue might be specific to macOS Tahoe.

Sadly, no surprise there. Tahoe's been a real pain, but it's all I have on my new Mac... I've got other machines, running earlier versions without any trouble, so it's not the end of the world for me.

I just tested this on macOS Tahoe 26.3, on a mac mini with Fritzing 1.0.6, and it just worked as expected. I also tested 1.0.5 and a very recent development build.

The visual appreance of the dialog however changes a lot:

On Sequoia, Fritzing 1.0.6 (bottom left) and Fritzing 1.0.7 (dev build, top right):

On Tahoe, all Fritzing versions show the dialog like in the original screenshot from UniquePete.

Dialog respects dark mode (expected) but one shows the Fritzing icon, one a warning symbol, and on Tahoe, no icon at all.

I too can confirm that all is OK on the following configurations, all running Fritzing Version 1.0.6 (CD-2239-0-04e5bb02 2025-10-07) Cocoa [Qt 6.5.3]:

Intel MacBook Pro, macOS Sequoia 15.7.3
M1 Mac mini, macOS Sonoma 14.8.1
M1 MacBookAir, macOS Tahoe 26.1

The first two show the dialog box, with the Fritzing icon, as illustrated in the post immediately above, the Tahoe MacBookAir without the icon.

And just for the record, the Tahoe configuration that doesn't seem to work is running on a recently purchased M4 Pro Mac mini. I've just done a completely fresh macOS [26.3] installation, with nothing extra but the Fritzing application [1.0.6], and the problem is there—I can't click the buttons in the dialog box... Most of the time I do want to save my work, and I work on several machines, so the situation is manageable, if not ideal.

I can reproduce this issue:

Macbook Air M2: macOS Tahoe 26.3 (25D125)

When I close Fitzing by clicking on the 'X', everything works as expected.

However, when I use the menu bar option 'Fritzing' > 'Quit Fritzing', I encounter the same issue described in this topic.

Yes, I see that too on the M4 Pro Mac mini configuration—clicking on the red 'button' to close the window yields a dialog box that can be clicked, but Fritzing > Quit Fritzing or COMMAND-Q yields a dialog box that can't be clicked.

So clicking on the red 'button' to close the window, rather than just quitting, is at least a practical work-around.
