Problem with samples using the 8580 emulation

If you leave the SIDKick Pico on umodified default settings (8580) then samples won't play correctly.

For example this SID has no samples:

I can't test it right now, but I believe that also the title music of Bad Cat had problems with the samples (normally they have a low volume on the 8580, but in the SIDKick Pico emulation they are missing completely).

I tried it once and it didn't work. Maybe someone else can try it, because I'm not 100% sure if I did it right.

Ok, had a quick look. Are you referring to the "Rock This" demo? The samples have low volume, but are there. With Bad Cat you need to choose 8581+digiboost then all is fine (otherwise the volume is too low).

Did you try this on a freshly installed firmware v0.224?
I used the supplied firmware for C64/128.
The samples were not low volume (this is what I would expect on a 8580 without digifix), but not playing at all.
We could reproduce the behaviour on a real C64 and on a U64E2 with two different batches of SIDKick Pico, so it's not the problem of a single unit.

Yes, fresh install, U64. Have you tried the digifix option to rule out everything else?

Yes, I also tried different DigiFix volumes, but nothing helped.
Only switching to 6581 mode fixed the problem.
Someone at Forum64 told me that they could look into the issue, but have some questions regarding the compilation of the code.
