Umlaut in path

Hi,

thank you for writing this very nice package.

I am having problems writing / reading from a folder located in on a drive with an umlaut (a "ö") in the path. Writing gives the error (I removed the actual path):

Error in fst::write_fst(D, <path>) : There was an error creating the file, please check path

When i write the file somewhere else and copy it into the desired folder, I get:

Error in fst::read_fst(<path>) : Error opening fst file for reading, please check access rights and file availability

Hi @matthiaskaeding, thanks for reporting! Indeed, an umlaut in one of the top folders seems to cause problems where an umlaut in the filename does not:

df <- data.frame(X = 1:10)

# file with ö in path
path <- paste0(tempdir(), "/ö.fst")
fst::write_fst(df, path)  # no problems

# dir with ö in path
dir <- paste0(tempdir(), "/öindir")
dir.create(dir)
path <- paste0(dir, "/1.fst")

fst::write_fst(df, path)  # generates error
write.csv2(df, path)  # no error with base csv writer

# same applies to other UTF-8 character folders
dir <- paste0(tempdir(), "/中文")
dir.create(dir)
path <- paste0(dir, "/1.fst")

fst::write_fst(df, path)  # generates error

the same applies to other UTF8 characters in one of the top-level folder names. The error is generated in this code; apparently opening a binary file stream for writing fails when a path contains UTF8 characters.

I will take a look at the base-R code to see how file names with UTF8 paths are handled, thanks again for reporting this!

Indeed, in my case the umlaut is in the top folder.
