In documentation it is mentioned it uploads the result to xray jira i would like to know is it uploading pass/fail status only or it upload more info like when any test case got failed including fail status is it upload why test case got failed in test steps?

The plugin uploads all statuses which are accepted by Xray plus with comments, which can be a reason why test failed. Also you can attach a test evidence as it is described in the readme https://github.com/fundakol/pytest-jira-xray?tab=readme-ov-file#attach-test-evidences.
You can attach also log with argument --add-captures.
