Astrologer API v5 is a major update that builds on everything learned from v4 to offer a cleaner, more consistent API for charts and data.

What’s new

• Unified v5 endpoint surface under /api/v5/...
• Consistent JSON responses for natal, synastry, transits, composites, and returns
• Optional split SVG output (chart_wheel + chart_grid) and transparent backgrounds
• AI/LLM‑ready context endpoints that return structured text instead of SVG
• Documentation and tests aligned with the new OpenAPI schema

Migrating from v4

• Read the v5 README and docs (Swagger, Redoc, OpenAPI) for updated request/response shapes.
• Compare your existing v4 calls with the v5 examples, paying attention to required fields and options.
• Roll out changes in staging first, then production.

This is a breaking release. If you run into issues or missing use cases while migrating, please open a GitHub issue with a minimal example so we can improve v5 together.
