Idea of new LLM oriented tool for Bioacoustics

Following this new LLM based model in HuggingFace for bioacoustics https://huggingface.co/EarthSpeciesProject/NatureLM-audio/tree/main, it seems of interest to look at a way to create a dedicatd Galaxy tool maybe reusing the SAM3 "template" https://ecology.usegalaxy.eu/?tool_id=toolshed.g2.bx.psu.edu/repos/ecology/sam3_semantic_segmentation/sam3_semantic_segmentation/1.0.1+galaxy3 ?

@yvanlebras I like the idea. We are also in the process of creating a few tools based on Hugging Face models, one of the first one is described here: usegalaxy-eu/project-ideas#59. We are thinking to create one tool each for one type of analysis such as DNA seq or Protein seq or Imaging etc. Each such tool can potentially consume similar type of Hugging Face models to achieve similar task within each analysis. What are your thoughts on this approach? Thank you!

Hi Anup! THANK you for taking part to the discussion! You completely are right, I was thinking the same kind of "strategy" to think ! I am not sure what is the best "strategy" to adopt as it seems to me we can have a generic tool who can allow users to use it with several models for heterogeneous tasks (as Yolo oriented tools), or / and we can have highly specific tools, sharing the same "basis" / "template" of tool, even the same model, "just" applying to specific domain oriented needs.... Maybe it can be of interest to have a discussion around that topic ? A Bof ot GCC ? A dedicated SIG ?

I like the idea of having a BoF at GCC. There we can discuss more about the topic and a possible SIG.
