I'm writing today to ask if there is perhaps a known system issue concerning email notifications. I've noticed when i send a +invite notification to new users using their email address, they receive the notifications within a few minutes pretty well 100% of the time (even if it might be flagged for the junk or quarantine folders). I have looked into individuals settings as well as my group settings concerning receiving notifications. We are finding that when we try to post/publish or want to send a message to our entire group, the notifications for those only tend to be received by about 15% of the people in the group. Sometimes the notifications can appear hours later or the next day, however our experience trying to have a Committee Manager send out a message to our entire group has not proved to be very effective. Our settings should be allowing for the notifications to come through, unfortunately we are not receiving them to a degree that we could rely on them unfortunately.

The number of recipients can definitely cause issues with the current notification system, anything that's sent directly to a single person or just a few people should arrive quire reliably from my experience, however when there are hundreds or thousands of notifications being sent in one go it will usually run into problems. The daily / weekly digest (can be turned on in your notification settings) is one way to get around that, but those are as the name suggests sent daily or weekly so you won't see those notification right away. It would likely take a considerable rework of the notification system for it to be able to handle up to many thousands of recipients for notifications and it doesn't seem like a project of that size is in the cards at the moment.
