Request: Standalone Docker Compose Stack

Hi Jeff,

Would it be possible for you or someone else here to provide a straightforward Docker Compose stack suitable for deployment via Portainer or directly on a standalone Docker host?

I've been attempting to put this together myself but much to my frustration, I haven't been successful yet. Would you or someone mind kindly guiding me on which files I should reference in order to create a working Docker Compose file?

I'm also very open to further advice via this issue as I see this as a learning exercise 😄

Hi @tim0n3, I am no Jeff but maybe I can help :)

If I understand correctly you would like to have an all-in-one docker-compose.yml defining all the services to run.

Have you managed to exec this repo's ansible code? Because the result is exactly what you are looking for.
You will find all the docker-compose.yml files under https://github.com/geerlingguy/internet-pi/blob/master/example.config.yml#L3

In any case, if you give me the list of services you want to run I can provide you with the docker-compose.yml myself (adapted from my current internet-pi config)

I agree with @tim0n3 , instructions are missing for a straightforward Docker Compose deployment via Portainer

I saw your answer and gave a try to example.config.yml#L3
Portainer give the following error
failed to deploy a stack: validating /data/compose/10/docker-compose.yml: (root) Additional property domain_prometheus is not allowed

I know this is late but, I basically just read all of the files in this repo and used the jinja templates to build the compose file.

Start here: compose-j2-file

For extra context: The box I needed this on was part of a managed service and my user was limited to docker and a few other commands, hence I created this issue.

Now that I'm on the other end of this journey I think pulling this repo into codex or gemini and prompting them to produce a compose stack file would work for most people, instead of doing this by hand like I did :(
