Sort by multi link count of objects

Found myself really wanting to sort by this multilink to explore what kind of data existed, but alas.

Is the ask here to be able to sort by the typenames of the final type of the linked object? I can think of some ways of writing a grouping query to satisfy the underlying question, but given how flexible multi-inheritance is, I'm not sure there is a generic way that isn't a huge performance bomb in some cases.

Ask here was to sort by nominal number of links regardless of type actually! (I am nowhere near creative enough to think of the above ask)
