Pressing space when in the pause editor menu crashes the game

im on mac and when i press space in the pause editor menu (the one with save) crashes the game

I remember this happening to me one time. As far as I know, it's a vanilla bug. The game is trying to access parts of the pause menu after it has already been removed. I may be wrong, but that's my conclusion based on how aggressive macOS is when it comes to memory usage.
