PEP 668 - Usage of venv or pipx for installation for Debian 12 or Ubuntu 24.04

As of Debian 12 or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS it is not recommended to install any pip package system-wide via "pip install name-of-package", see PEP 668.

I would like to ask, if there are limitations when "undervolt" is installed via pipx or inside a virtual environment? Does undervolting work at all, when installed via pipx or in venv?

If so, do I still need to use sudo for commands such as "undervolt --read"?

It would be great, if the documentation and installations steps gets updated in accordance with the new guidelines.

you can install it in user environment. you still need to use sudo to call it

I'm in the same situation.
It's so basic that no one else has had the same experience and i thinked there's no information available,
I found this issue post after I was thinking I had to look for another tool.

I got the same PEP error when using pip in a system-wide environment, even with the --user flag.
in firsttime I installed undervolt without that flag in a virtual-env environment that I only use for personal programming, but when I tried running undervolt -r,
it asked for sudo. When I added sudo, it said there was no command called undervolt (probably on the system-wide side).
so if available updated installation guide would be helpful.

The pipx that others have mentioned seems like it would work, so I'll go with that for now!

I'm also thinking about writing personal use GUI in Python, and ideally I'd like a general, fixed command line access that I can access by
simply typing undervolt -r in a terminal without entering a virtual environment
