Set minimum SDK to 26 (Android 8, August 2017) #6917
Description
Currently the minimum SDK is 21 (Android 5, 2014).
Installed audience represents about half a percent of total:
- 277 on Android 5.0
- 2,054 on Android 5.1
- 2,736 on Android 6.0
- 2,201 on Android 7.1
A lot of useful APIs were introduced in API 26 and dropping support for earlier devices would simplify code.
Facebook Lite is Android 8+. WhatsApp does still support down to Android 5.
